Recipes for Homemade Goodness – Revisited
Here comes another Friday afternoon when we pull together a set of posts having a similar theme or topic. It’s a convenient way of presenting a nice set of complementary articles for our readers.
This week our theme is recipes, and they’re likely to send you straight to the kitchen.
Kristen starts us off with how to make buttermilk biscuits from scratch. Well, cooking from scratch is a good thing for the self reliant among us, so let’s get cooking and get out that creamy pork gravy while you’re at it. If I’m having biscuits, I’m going to have some gravy to go along with ‘em.
Those who live in Poland believe that it isn’t a meal unless you have soup, so here’s Mark to tell us how to make a frugal and versatile cream soup – homemade no less. I just can’t help but think that this soup would go great with the buttermilk biscuits.
Next, Glory shows us how to make homemade apple sauce. Okay, it’s clear to me now – I’m looking for something to pour over the buttermilk biscuits. Applesauce will do just fine in my book.
Last in our lineup today is Joan who gives us ideas and recipes for using homegrown sprouts. This reminds me of my California days when sprouts were common on sandwiches and in pita bread creations – ummm, good!

Thankfully, that wraps up another Friday afternoon of dipping into our archives. I’m getting a bit too hungry to press on with this presentation of our previously published kitchen creations. I know you’ll find these recipes as good as the day they were first published.
