How to Make Iced Coffee
How much do you pay for your morning coffee? I could spend between two to five dollars on one cup of iced coffee, depending on which coffee shop I go to. Annually I could also be spending more than 1,000 dollars every year on coffee alone! Lately, I have been making my own iced coffee. It’s simple and less expensive.
What you will need:
- a coffee pot and ground up coffee
-milk, sugar, flavored creamer (etc.)
-a refrigerator
- ice
-a separate pitcher or container
Step 1: Brew a pot of coffee. Usually I like to make iced coffee at night, so it can be ready in the morning when I want it.
Step 2: Pour coffee into a pitcher or container and place it in the refrigerator until the coffee is lukewarm.
Step 3: Begin adding any milk, sugar, flavored creamer (etc.) into the pitcher. Adding milk or liquid creamer will also help the coffee become colder.
Step 4: Add ice! This is important because lukewarm iced coffee is not always enjoyable.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy.
The process of making iced coffee has to be done at home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it when you leave. I suggest buying a plastic, reusable, to-go cup for your iced drinks. Some cups have built-in straws, and are insulated on the outside to keep drinks cold and hands warm. They are easy to clean and can cost as low as ten dollars.
