Quick Cleaning Tips
A wall mounted hand-held vacuum can can help you make your home look amazing in a very short time!
Relying on yourself is not always fun. These quick cleaning tips should help encourage you to smile at your frugality of not paying a housekeeper and still residing in a clean home. They might even make cleaning fun, simply because the task can be so easy.
Clean top to bottom. Whether deep cleaning or a frantic once-over, begin by dusting with clean old rags, from ceiling fan blades, and then lower, because the loose dust will fall down. Take a damp rag on a quick trip around your home, and then drop it into your laundry hamper. You may add a drop of an essential oil for a fresh smell too, but do it quickly and then move on to the bathroom. We’re going for quick and easy here!
Get rid of germs. Swish out your bathroom toilet, and then quickly water your ivy or spider plant, wipe the mirror and sink with a fresh rag and a drop off disinfecting essential oil, toss the rag in the hamper and move on to the kitchen. Wipe down counter tops and sink with a fresh rag, dampened with water and a couple drops of oil.
Keep only a couple cleaning agents in your home. Keep your cleaning agents simple and non-toxic. An all-purpose soap and toilet bowl cleaner are all we keep on hand, plus vinegar and baking soda (not stored together!) and a few essential oils. With a myriad of uses, baking soda tops the list for quick cleaning tips. This frugal, safe, and natural product will help you scour both your kitchen and bathroom on that day next year when you get around to a deep cleaning. Baking soda will help wipe marks off your walls (please remember it’s a bit abrasive!) for just pennies. For now, remember to shake a bit into your carpeting just before vacuuming to absorb unpleasant odors.
Hand held vacuum. A wall mounted hand-held vacuum is a wonderful way to quickly suck up and away debris from upholstery, carpeting, plus every other type of flooring. Slide your vacuum out of its holster, take a quick 2-5 minute swirl through your home, and you might be amazed at how clean it will look.
Speed up your movements with music. This might be the best tip yet. Think and move positively through the music you listen to. Choose just how long you will be cleaning by how many songs you listen to, and feel free to stick to it. Do the same tomorrow, or once a week, and you will stay out from under what could be an avalanche of dirt and grime. If your doorbell rings, your company will think the party has already started.
If you really, really despise cleaning and are privileged with children to raise, teach these quick cleaning tips to the next generation. You will give them life skills and lessen your household work load. Their future spouse will thank you, and it’s always more relaxing to visit a home that’s clean.
